The Cosmic Dark

It is but rare in history to find thinkers taking the side of darkness; literally or metaphorically. Darkness does not attribute itself to a negative form of energy. It is the energy. Modern science has proved that this universe has come from the dark matter. Before that there was darkness; from it was born. When we look up at the sky we see stars. They are but drops in the vast cosmic void that fills the entire space. An ocean of oceans that spread across time and dimension.

Light on the other had owes its existence to darkness. The very nature of light is derived from darkness. The very way it has to be is a teaching of the darkness. But in darkness is light valued, isn't it?

Namaskaram to you readers. I welcome you to my blog.

  1. I believe that darkness as a medium has got nothing to do with the 'scary dark' that we associate with our daily lives. The cosmos unfortunately is not dark. Dark is what one experiences on a Wednesday afternoon when a thousand thoughts strike at an instant and leaves us dumb. The brilliance of the cosmos dazzles our monkey brains leaving us wrapped in a mesh of thoughts. That is when things go blank; the dark watches you stealthily from its bright corner and when you are jaded it tickles your senses with its idle reveries and carry you off to be thrown off the happy cliff; wake up, it is time for a quick recap.
You are struggling; your limbs ache, what you once saw clear is now blurred and your tongue is out gasping for breath. Roll your tongue in and shut your mouth, embrace the silence and let it flow.
The sound from near and far fades; memories of good old days flash by, you do not have much time.Stop fighting! You are not going to last. It does not matter anymore. Am I reaching or are you floating in the void? Did you get what you were searching for? Did the dark lead you to salvation. And when every thing was about to settle down, God answered in a thunderous voice, "Let there be light! "

  2. Darkness is to light what death is to life. Without darkness there is no light like without death there is no life. It is darkness and death that give meaning to light and death. Light has one source in the universe and it is the stars. Stars are mere specks in the blankness that fills the void. Become the void. Forgo not the base, the very foundation of creation itself. Don't exist as an offshoot of creation. Become the creation for you are the 'entire' universe in static motion not just the specks. I sincerely appreciate your views Mr. Rahul Bose. Thank you for sharing them.

  3. We can strive for the speed of light to reach the stars but without darkness we wouldn’t even know of the stars. Wish you all the best for your new blog.

  4. Dear Soli,

I was wondering how to express this for it surfaced mildly and was deceivingly subtle. You put it in a way that I could not. Thank you.
